A recent survey by Descartes Systems Group highlights rising tariffs and trade barriers as the top concern for global supply chain leaders. The 2024 Supply Chain Intelligence Report found that 48% of respondents ranked tariffs as their primary issue, followed by supply chain disruptions (45%) and geopolitical instability (41%). The report emphasizes the need for enhanced supply chain analytics and technology to manage tariff changes, find new markets, and improve competitive intelligence. Jackson Wood, Director of Industry Strategy at Descartes, stressed that evolving U.S. trade policies may require businesses to adjust sourcing strategies to mitigate rising costs.
